The Full Story

About Us:
Stop the Violence Prayer Chain Foundation, inc

Stop the Violence Prayer Chain Foundation, inc (a/k/a STVPCF), is a nonprofit organization founded in 2011 by Minister Margaret Guy, after seeing an increase in gun violence in the city she grew up in.  Minister Guy seen the need of community intervention and put action forward.  Now, since obtaining non-profit status in 2014, STVPCF has and continues to save children from the perils of their environment.  Since 2011, this organization has hosted countless events benefiting the children and families of New Castle County.  We host weekly tutoring, counseling, S.T.E.M. and life skill classes.  Our monthly events consist of food and clothes drives, ‘chat and chew’ sessions with professionals teaching at risk youth various life topics, and events tailored to celebrating a holiday during the month.  In addition, every year we host a back-to-school drive that includes providing school supplies and haircuts/hair styles to the children; so, they can start the school year “fresh.”  Our largest event, at the end of the year, is the Christmas toy drive.  This event brings hundreds of children out to obtain gifts from “Santa”, enjoy music, a moon bounce, games and plenty of goodies.  The children’s favorite part of being a part of STVPCF, are the educational trips.  Our organization exposes children to the world outside of Delaware.  To date, some of our trips were to the Poconos, Ocean City, MD, Atlantic City, NJ, Virginia Beach, The White House, and much much more.
